The Investigation
By Joseph Flammer
It's no secret that the
Cashtown Inn is haunted. Books
have been written about the Inn's
ghosts.
The Cashtown Inn was built circa
1796 and served as the first stage
coach stop west of Gettysburg.
During the Civil War, General
A.P.Hill set up headquarters at the
Cashtown Inn just prior to the Battle
of Gettysburg in 1863, A few
famous paintings depict General Hill
meeting General Lee at the
Cashtown Inn.
Today the historic Inn is a bed and breakfast with four lavish rooms
and three suites. The Inn also offers fine dining in its simple, but pretty
restaurant.
In January 2006 Jack and Maria Paladino bought the Cashtown Inn.
Jack Paladino was extremely generous with his time on a very busy
day to tell us great ghost stories of the Inn and to show us photographs.
He allowed us to wander the building and photograph and video tape its
rooms and dining areas.
