Many people at the Oct. 30th,
2011 Ghost Investigation at
Almshouse Cemetery in
Yaphank, once known as
"Potter's Field,"
photographed mists in the
night.
The mist in this picture was  not the
result of breath expelled into the
cold air. Though people were
breathing out mists on this frigid
night, Diane Hill was careful not to
breathe in front of the lens. Like
many people on this night, she
believes she caught a paranormal
mist.
Many people photographed orbs on
this night of ghost investigating at
Potter's Field.  Some photos were
absolutely cluttered with orbs, while
others showed orbs of different size,
texture, and light quality. Many ghost
investigators are "on the fence" about
orbs, believing that in some cases
where there is other paranormal
evidence present, orbs might be
manifestations of spirits.
While Diane believes that the orbs in the this photo are the result
of dust particles in the air, she feels that if a person if comforted
by believing orbs in their photos are manifestations of deceased
friends, family members, or spirits that are trying to reach them,
than hold fast to your beliefs.

Photos by Tina Malandra - Tina and her son participated in an EVP session during the investigation at
Potter's Field on the evening of Oct. 30, 2011. Left: Tina caught a mist drifting across the graves.
Middle photo: a mist swirls around the feet of a participant in the EVP session at a time when EVP
leader Denise Reilly of North Babylon was interacting with the spirit of a young girl she sensed. Right
photo: a streak of red light cuts through the middle of the EVP group. In an e-mail, Tina said she was
unsure if the streak was paranormal or the result of something in the environment caused by the
investigators or camera. Each of these photographs in enlarged below for closer examination.

Why is a mist swirling around the feet of an
investigator during an EVP session when a
young girl was sensed amongst us? Is this a
spirit? If not, what is the mist, and how did it
occur?
Night is when the spirits of Potter's Field
reveal themselves in the form of mists.
Many people experienced "something"
paranormal on this night. Tina's camera
caught evidence of spirits in the night.
Was the streak off light at the upper right of this
photo paranormal or the result of lens flare or
something else that is perfectly explainable?
When it comes to the paranormal, investigators
are often asking the same question about what
they experience.
The drifting mist in this photo by Barara Siminerio is typical of the
nighttime mists often photographed bat Potter's Field by
investigators. At least a few folks who viewed this photo felt is
shows a figure in the mist. The figure, it has been suggested, is
grounded by feet. Is the figure bending over and touching a grave?
Is a head rising out of the large circle of mist?
