December 4th, 2006 was a cold night. Diane Hill and I had arrived late to the meeting place - at the
Dunkin Doughnuts on Route 106 in Oyster Bay, and we were glad to learn that other people were even
later. We bought coffee and readied our cameras in the back of my SUV.
Soon we gathered as a group, ten strong, and marched across 106 to a short dead end road that led to a
graveyard on a hill. Pine Hollow Cemetery was established in 1884. It is a graveyard that is hard to walk,
for most of it is on a hill.
Erica Popino (see Erica's story In Her Own Words) had experienced a ghost in this graveyard, an
apparition dressed in all black with a cape and hat. She had seen it at ten in the morning, wide awake, in
the daylight months before when she was alone and visited this cemetery on a whim. On this night of the
hunt she would spot with her naked eyes a large bright white orb of light floating across the hill at the
exact spot she had seen the apparition months before. She recalled that seconds before she saw the
apparition she had been startled by a bird cawing loudly in the sky and looked up; when she looked down,
the man was standing twenty feet away from her, only to disappear before here eyes. It was a sight she will
never forget. Unlike the apparition, the orb pictured below visited Erica while she was in the company of
many other paranormal investigators - after she invited the spirits to show themselves to us. A photo of the
orb is at the bottom of this page.

Erica's Orb
This orb was spotted on the graveyard hillside even
before it was photographed by P.A.S.T. paranormal
investigator Erica Popino. When she saw this dense
white ball of light she immediately lifted her camera
and clicked off a photo. She was calling everyone
else to do the same, but no one else saw the orb. See
